How To Design Fabric
Welcome to Imagine Patterns Group. If you have read my ‘About Me’ page you know that I am new at designing patterns. I have wanted to design fabric for a very long time but I was busy selling real estate and raising a family. I had no idea how to create a pattern I just knew I wanted to do it. One day I Googled ‘ how to design fabric’ and discovered the world of Surface Pattern Design. Textile design is the process of creating patterns for woven, knitted or printed fabric. Surface Pattern Design is creating patterns for many different kinds of surfaces. I was all in! I slowly started learning Adobe Illustrator in between my already busy life. While I was very familiar with computers I was naive when it came to learning Adobe Illustrator on my own but it was so exciting and rewarding to be learning something that I dreamed of doing for such a long time.
My goal for this blog is to encourage and empower anyone interested in designing patterns. For those of you who have dreamed of designing patterns, The Imagine Patterns Group can be a good place to start. I wanted to start this blog while all my challenges of learning Adobe Illustrator were fresh in my mind. I look forward to hearing from those who have dreamed of designing and making patterns.
